a student is seeing ghosts, demons of his past are catching up with an old man and a woman turns into a living mummy. these are only a few of the bizarre characters in august strindberg’s surrealistic “ghost sonata”. trapped in a cycle of deadly secrets, guilt and repression, a group of actors and a singer form a phantomatic community who constantly struggle with and manipulate each other. music by franz schubert, arnold schönberg, alban berg, hugo wolf and jacques offenbach generate the unique atmosphere of the staging.
